Role Overview
Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world’s largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Warehouse Yard Supervisor
Reporting to the Supply Chain Coordinator
Schedule is an even rotation; 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off-site
Key Responsibilities
• Protect the safety and health of employees by promoting safe working procedures and health programs in accordance with Company policies and appropriate regulations
• Responsible for Airport Operations, Reagent Deliveries, Yard Deliveries, Fleet Management, Inventory Accuracy, Sealift Receiving, Inaccuracy Resolution, Weekly and Monthly Inspections, Cycle Counting, Material Picks and TPV’s, Yard and Pad Management
• Provide a warehousing service at Red Dog operations to ensure operating supplies; materials and equipment are available as needed to maintain uninterrupted operating and maintenance requirements
• Accountable for the accuracy and efficiency of the month end inventory process including discrepancy reconciliation
• Accountable for the accuracy and efficiency of the Warehouse personnel
• Ensuring proper operation of equipment, employees are properly trained and that equipment uptime is maximized
• Maintain an effective liaison with customers and suppliers to keep abreast of customer needs and ensure prompt response by suppliers
• Develop and implement improved methods of warehousing and materials handling by keeping abreast of the latest technical advances in these fields
• Ensure employees are properly trained to carry out their specific tasks and duties
• Ensure that all equipment and facilities utilized by the Materials dept is maintained in good working order and is safe to operate
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or Warehouse Operations
• Three (3) years of lead-hand and or Supervisory experience
• Experience in Mining or Heavy Industry environment
• Strong computer proficiency in GenCID, Excel, Access and other Microsoft Office Products
• Strong interpersonal skills – written & oral communication skills, ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders
