About our Vancouver Office
Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Teck’s Corporate Office sits in one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.
Surrounded by world-renowned nature and globally inspired cuisine, the office brings together many of Teck’s corporate functions - all working toward Teck’s purpose of providing the essential resources the world relies on.
Role Overview
We are seeking a versatile Senior Technical Analyst to join our Engineering Applications team. This role is primarily focused on the ongoing support, maintenance, and improvement of existing internal applications, as well as developing and enhancing operational reports and dashboards. Day-to-day responsibilities include regular work with Power BI, SQL, and application troubleshooting, with occasional light development or integration tasks in C#/.NET and React when needed.
This position is ideally suited for someone who enjoys a mix of reporting, problem-solving, and application support activities—rather than continuous or large-scale development projects.
This is an initial 12-month contract to start with possibility of extension based on program needs.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be part of one of Canada’s leading mining companies and join our team!
Key Responsibilities:
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Provide Tier 3 support for specialized applications in mine planning, geotechnical analysis, and operational reporting.
• Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and long-term fixes for critical application issues.
• Develop and modify existing C#/.NET code and implement small enhancements or integrations when needed.
• Work with SQL Server for data queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on system configuration, release planning, and lifecycle management.
• Support data workflows and integrations across engineering and enterprise platforms.
• Maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
• Monitor system performance and proactively implement improvements
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in technical support, reporting, and application maintenance.
• Hands-on experience creating Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling and DAX.
• Considerable proficiency with SQL Server for queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Some experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD is preferred.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL) is considered an asset.
• Hand-on development experience with C#/.NET code (ASP.NET Core familiarity preferred).
• Practical experience with React.js for front-end adjustments; familiarity with TypeScript is beneficial.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integration concepts.
• Experience using Git for code repository management and version control.
• Basic scripting knowledge with PowerShell and Python.
• Clear and concise communicator with the ability to work independently.
• Experience in mining or industrial sectors is helpful.
• Spanish language proficiency for cross-regional collaboration is preferred.
Pay Range: CAD $null - $null per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
