Senior Software Developer in Test / Support Analyst (Contract)

Reporting to the Lead, Shared Services & Run, the Senior Software Developer, Digital Analytics, will work on a team providing both engineering level product support, as well as ancillary service, framework and automation support to other teams within Digital Analytics.

Digital Analytics has a range of responsibilities and contributes across the entire stack, from services and front ends to databases and data engineering to DevOps and infrastructure as code. This outstanding individual will have strong experience in working with cloud native technologies on Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP and demonstrate an appetite for continuous learning through a variety of activities.

Responsibilities

• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Solve and diagnose problems within existing systems using problem-solving and debugging skills
• Evolve and improve the Data & Analytics strategy and tooling for automated testing
• Ensure the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards
• Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of software development experience, with knowledge of Agile software development process
• Prior experience as a software developer in test, including use of automated tools and frameworks, such as pytest, Playwright, Cypress – bonus points if you’ve used dbt for unit and data tests
• Previous success in implementing (or has used and can recreate) end-to-end test strategies, including unit testing, integration testing, performance testing and regression testing
• Deep knowledge of version control systems (Git), particularly GitHub
• A clear understanding of how automation of testing fits into continuous integration and continuous deployment strategies
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process sophisticated information and present it clearly and simply
• Applies team collaboration to build innovative solutions efficiently
• Passionate about technology and excited about the impact of emerging or innovative technologies
• Practices radical candor to communicate clearly and to build trust
• Experience with relational (especially Postgres and Azure SQL) and NoSQL data stores
• Open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge skillset
