Senior Enterprise Architect (Contractor)

Reporting to the Lead, Endpoint Management, the Senior Enterprise Architect is responsible for the review, consolidation, and optimization of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and the development of a robust security framework for a Windows 11 migration project. This role requires deep expertise in Active Directory, Windows security policies and endpoint security configurations to ensure compliance with industry standard practices.

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Analyze and consolidate existing GPOs to streamline policy enforcement and improve system performance
  • Design and implement secure, efficient, and scalable GPOs for Windows 11 environments
  • Ensure compliance with security frameworks such as CIS benchmarks, NIST CSF, and Microsoft Security Baselines
  • Collaborate with IT security, infrastructure, and operations teams to enforce security hardening measures
  • Conduct testing and validation of new GPOs to prevent system disruptions and ensure smooth deployment
  • Maintain documentation of policy changes, configurations, and implementation procedures
  • Provide technical expertise and support for solving and improving GPO-related issues

 

Qualifications

 

  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, including GPO management and Windows security. Experience working in a Mining organization at an enterprise level is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Windows Server environments
  • Good understanding of security frameworks, compliance standards, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Experience with scripting (PowerShell) for automation and policy execution
  • Shown ability to analyze complex IT environments and develop optimized policy solutions
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across IT teams
  • Microsoft certifications in Windows Server, Identity and Access Administrator, Security Compliance and Identity Fundamentals are an asset
  • Experience with cloud-based policy management tools such as Intune or Azure AD is an asset
  • Background in vulnerability management and endpoint protection is a plus
