The Senior Engagement Specialist will be pivotal in supporting the organizational change management (OCM) strategy for the transformation program in our technology department (Teck Digital Systems). As part of the OCM Team within the Program’s Transformation Management Office, you will work closely with the OCM Lead to integrate communications and engagement strategies and plans into the larger OCM plan. This will be a 6-month contract to start.
Working closely with a range of collaborators, from senior leadership to impacted employees, you will develop and implement a coordinated communications and engagement strategy that aligns with Teck’s values and supports a seamless transition to new ways of working. This is a fast-paced, sophisticated program with many deliverables, requiring an individual with experience in supporting transformation or large-scaled change initiatives, as well as the resiliency and focus to maintain execution at a high-level.

Responsibilities

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

Build and implement communications and engagement strategy, and associated deliverables, for a key strategic transformation initiative within our technology group

Own the execution of communications plans and handle key communications channels (i.e Teams channels)

Define and use appropriate objective-based communication strategies that support positive project outcomes

Contextualize change to broader Teck transformation activities, in communications approach and materials
-
Advise, coach, and support senior leaders in the pursuit of employee engagement, effective storytelling and communications in support of transformation and change

Develop key messages for transformation initiatives, leadership and key collaborators

Lead junior team members, when required, on project deliverables

Innovate and continuously evolve current engagement channels, routines and rituals to best serve engagement and project objectives

Analyze communication events and activities to measure engagement and re-strategize based on metrics
Qualifications
-
Must have 10+ years' experience in internal communications/employee engagement

Must have 10+ years’ experience leading the communication and engagement strategy and roll-out of large scale, change-related initiatives or projects

Must possess foundational knowledge of change management principles

Strong written and verbal communication skills and relationship-building skills

Experience and confidence in providing strategic advice and guidance to leadership

Ability to work effectively both individually and in a collaborative, team setting

Proven ability to build programs and methods for engaging stakeholders toward the success of a goal/business outcome

Demonstrated ability to create clear measurable communication/engagement outcomes and report project progress through appropriate key performance indicators

Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve, stay organized and manage multiple assignments

Technically proficient - must have strong skills and experience of the O365 suite (SharePoint is a must) and other communication and engagement platforms (i.e. email software)

Experience with creative design and editing tools is a benefit (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, After Effects, Camtasia etc.)

Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain and ensure accuracy

Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to measure their own effectiveness and demonstrate value
