Senior Collaboration Technology Specialist - Voice

The Senior Collaboration Technology Specialist - voice is responsible for the planning, implementation, migration and support of Teck’s MS Teams Calling environment. They ensure the highest level of performance, establish support procedures, recommend architectural direction and coordinate advanced recovery procedures for both hardware and software related to our Skype for Business, Cisco Unified Communications (UC) environment and MS Teams for PSTN Calling environment.


We are looking for individuals with who have designed/architected, configured and supported the following technologies and systems:

  • Microsoft Teams / Teams Calling
  • Skype for Business
  • Cisco Unified Communications (UC): CUCM, UCCX, CUBE, CUC
  • PSTN Calling
  • Office 365, Exchange, Windows Server, Active Directory



  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Implements and supports MS Teams Calling and assists with ongoing Skype for Business / Cisco UC to Teams migration project
  • Supports Cisco Unified Communications platforms such as CUCM, UCCX, CUBE and CUC
  • Coordinate complex technical changes to Teck’s Communication and Video Conferencing environment
  • Educate or mentor junior team members on the support of MS Teams Calling, Skype for Business, and Cisco UC infrastructure
  • Coordinate advanced tuning on Telephony infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of performance including working with auxiliary support teams on sub-components
  • Actively participate in critical outages or restores to ensure minimal outage time / maximum availability and provide root-cause analysis on service outages
  • Contribute to strategy and architectural design of Teck’s Telephony environment
  • Moderate Teck’s Senior Management meetings, which may be of a sensitive and confidential nature, requiring discretion.
  • Occasional travel to support large offsite company events to provide audio and video design, setup and support.
  • Run Telephony related projects to keep in scope and on budget
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of Teck’s Telephony environment and act as the highest tier of support.
  • Participate in on-call emergency rotation



  • Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate preferred
  • Cisco CCVP or higher (or equivalent) certification would be an asset
  • 5+ years of senior level support in a medium to large enterprise organization supporting complex telephony environments
  • 5+ years crafting, building and supporting MS OCS, Lync or Skype for Business or MS Teams telephony environments
  • 5+ years supporting Cisco UC telephony environments would be an asset
  • Previous experience in Skype for Business / Cisco UC to MS Teams Calling migrations
  • Solid grasp of Office 365, Exchange, MS Server, and Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with telephony monitoring, diagnostics and network analytics tools
  • Demonstrable ability to handle time demands and prioritize work when supporting staff at multiple locations
  • Practical experience handling 3rd party vendors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at both technical and executive level
