RACEX Co-op/Intern (Engineering, Business, Computer Science Students/New Grad Opportunity)

In the capacity of a Co-op or Intern, with the RACEX team, you will gain a systems level perspective in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. You will have the opportunity to advance your skills and knowledge in ground breaking software and distributed systems, and perform analytics on real-time data.

 

The RACEX team is accelerating digitization, automation, and advanced analytics, and provides an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with various cross-functional teams. This position is an exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative team and contribute to the success of our fast-paced digital transformation program!

 

At this time, due to COVID-19 this position as well as all of Teck’s office employees are working virtually.  Preference will be given to candidates based out of Vancouver but candidates from elsewhere in Canada are also encouraged to apply.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team with the evaluation of recommendation systems and autonomous programs.
  • Supporting RACEX team’s projects including, but not limited to, machine learning, computer vision, object detection & localization, and multi-modal learning.
  • Conduct research and help with the development of machine learning algorithms.
  • Run experiments to measure algorithms’ efficiency and performance.
  • Write project documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Business/Commerce, Business Analytics, Engineering, or other related field.
  • Able to commit to either an 8 or 12 month work term.
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to balance multiple priorities at once.
  • Excited to work in a team environment following the Agile software development process.
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous work experience, co-op programs or internships are an asset.
