Network Security Analyst, Firewall Operations (Contract)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Employment Type: Contractor
Workplace Type: Hybrid

About our Vancouver Office

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Teck’s Corporate Office sits in one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

Surrounded by world-renowned nature and globally inspired cuisine, the office brings together many of Teck’s corporate functions - all working toward Teck’s purpose of providing the essential resources the world relies on.

Reporting to the Team lead, Network, the Network Security Analyst will provide immediate operational support for the organization's firewall infrastructure, with a primary focus on the Palo Alto Networks platform. This role addresses a current resourcing gap by handling Level 1, 2, and 3 network security tickets, ensuring continuity of firewall operations and reducing backlog during the contract term.

The contractor will work closely with the existing Security and Network Services teams and is expected to be operationally productive with minimal ramp-up time.

This is a hybrid 3-month contract role with possibility of extension. The role will be based out of our Vancouver office, with an expectation of regular in-office presence balanced with remote work flexibility.

Don't miss out on this outstanding opportunity to be part of one of Canada's leading mining companies and join our team!

  • Troubleshoot network security issues involving routing, NAT, VPN (site-to-site and remote access), and security policy conflicts.

  • Log, update, and manage tickets through their full lifecycle in ServiceNow, ensuring accurate status tracking and SLA adherence.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and root cause analysis to support knowledge transfer.
