Reporting to the RACE21™ Director of Digital, the Manager of Technology oversees the delivery roles within the digital organization. This person is an executor and the visionary force behind the technical solutions. The Manager of Technology values simplicity and is unafraid to challenge technical constraints and the status quo to find creative ways to deliver valuable solutions. The Manager of Technology works closely with all team members to set the vision for modular, scalable solutions that are flexible enough to grow and change with emergent technologies over time. The Manager of Technology will establish best practices across engineering methods like test driven development, continuous integration, and automated deployment. The Manager of Technology is a hands-on team member who actively coaches the team to solve complex problems.



  • Oversee tech architecture of all products within the portfolio with the help of product teams
  • Work with Manager of Product and Product Owners to create strategies to deliver powerful solutions
  • Guide product teams on technology strategies related to coding practices, continuous integration and automated deployment
  • Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
  • Share responsibility with Manager of Product to build reusable and scalable components within the portfolio of products
  • Help drive an evolution in digital thinking, first in the select sites and areas where we are currently developing and implementing products, and then across other sites within the company
  • Create a rich and productive community for our technical talent through sponsorship, mentorship and investment in capability building for your teams
  • Coordinate with peer leaders across the broader organization to articulate the needs of the RACE21 team, balance demand from external partners and make sure that our strategic roadmaps are aligned with the organizations broader technology strategy
  • Lead outreach activities into digital communities (e.g., Hackathos, Meetups, Conferences), collaborating with the Head of Digital Labs and HR Team
  • Drive culture change within the organization through coaching and training sessions, in conjunction with the overall change management strategy
  • Grow the digital and agile community within the company through recruiting, coaching and knowledge/capability building



  • Previous technical digital development experience e.g., as a developer or technical lead with deep insight into newest technologies and trends, Java/JVM and nice to have experience with functional programming (Scala)
  • Can make architecture decisions at a product and product portfolio level
  • Familiar with production Cloud / DevOps environments Experience in Agile Development, with specific Solution Architect (or similar) experience preferred
  • Deep Agile product development experience with proficient knowledge of multi team Agile delivery models
  • Experience managing technical priorities within the Backlog across a portfolio of products
  • Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions

  • Experienced in capability building of high performing teams
