Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Planning and Performance the Manager, Business Partner, Enterprise Functions is responsible in ensuring Teck’s enterprise functions leverage technology to meet or exceed their business goals.
In this role you will be the strategic advisor between technology and enterprise functions such as health and safety, finance and logistics. You manage relationships and leverage analytics to analyze, discover, quantify, and prioritize business opportunities. Through strong leadership and understanding of the mining business, you partner with domain leaders to develop technology strategy. You ensure technologies support operating excellence and evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental policies and procedures as well as provide transparent leadership to other areas aligned to Teck’s core values such as Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Develop and maintain lasting relationships with senior business leaders as measured by customer satisfaction of technology services.
- Engage with business collaborators and analyze performance metrics to understand, identify, and prioritize business needs.
- Work with the commercial and technical teams to capture, translate and enrich business requirements through design thinking and/or problem-solving sessions for new and existing services.
- Build and evaluate arguments that support prioritization of investment decisions, such as product improvements, new projects and programs.
- Collaborate with and provide feedback to technical groups to promote customer happiness.
- Engage senior business leaders to build their technology strategy. Develop an operations-specific technology and capability roadmap that balances cost, time, risk, and strategic alignment.
- Support key planning and investment processes, such as 5 year planning, capital allocation and annual business planning.
- Ensure you maintain a close working relationship with Teck teams critical to success, such as enterprise architecture, technology portfolio management and mining operations teams.
Qualifications
Technical
- Minimum 7 years’ within the mining industry, ideally working within an enterprise function such as finance, health & safety, or logistics.
- Broad knowledge of the business of mining that leads to strong and clearly articulated value propositions for strategic investments.
- Strong breadth of knowledge across technology such as risk management systems, productivity tools, ERP applications.
- Working understanding of enterprise architecture and improvement methodologies such as Lean, SixSigma, and frameworks such as ITSM is considered an asset.
- Bachelor's Degree or similar experience in customer success, sales, business development, or account management. Having an MBA or equivalent experience would be considered a strong asset.
Behavioural
- Significant ability to influence partners at various levels and departments across the business.
- Effective interpersonal skills, written and oral, with an ability to translate across business and technology domains.
- Proven phenomenal teammate.
- Process focused and results oriented.
Pay Range: CAD $147,000 - $182,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
