For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students with a background in Business to join our team as a Logistics Co-op. Reporting to the Lead, Land Logistics, North America, this role provides hands-on exposure to logistics and service activities that support our mine products, inbound materials, and broader Teck operations. The successful candidate will play an active role in ensuring logistics requirements are accurate, current, and aligned with both company objectives and customer expectations.

 

Candidates must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution for the full duration of the co-op term and plan to return to their studies upon completion for at least one academic term. If you are not currently located near the work location, you must be willing to commute or temporarily relocate for the duration of the term. A valid work permit will be required where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Develop, analyze, and maintain key performance metrics and supplier scorecards to support operational decision-making and monthly reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to supervise, coordinate, and support Teck product shipments, ensuring customer requirements are met and shipment issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound rail fleet activities for Base Metals, including railcar tracking, fleet analysis, and preparation of required reports
  • Maintain accurate route, vessel, rate, and shipment cost data in SAP for refined metals, concentrates, chemicals, and by-products
  • Prepare and provide clear, accessible reports and data insights for the Logistics team and internal partners
  • Support projects, analytical work, and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent experience or a related degree or diploma, with a focus on Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a similar field
  • Experience with Power BI is viewed as a plus
  • Previous work or co-op experience is recognized as helpful
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage data entry, reconciliation, and analysis successfully
  • Well-developed research, and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating optimally within a team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Proven digital literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Pay Range: CAD $4,100 - $5,200

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
