Surrounded by world-renowned nature and globally inspired cuisine, the office brings together many of Teck’s corporate functions - all working toward Teck’s purpose of providing the essential resources the world relies on.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Talent Management, the Learning Management System (LMS) Lead is the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for People Central Learning (PCL), Teck's SAP SuccessFactors learning platform. In this role, you will set the standards for how the platform is used, provide guidance and governance, and lead a global community of administrators across our operating sites and business functions.

Taking a consultative approach, you will partner with teams across Teck to deliver corporate training through the LMS, advising program owners on best practices, adult learning principles, and effective digital training design. You will also oversee Teck's on-demand learning content platform, giving employees access to a curated library of self-directed professional development. Leading a small team and working closely with People Systems, site training teams, and vendors, you will keep a complex learning environment consistent, compliant, and continuously improving, with strong reporting and KPI dashboards that help Teck monitor training conformance and support business and external reporting needs.

This opportunity is a 12-month contract position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Serve as the SME and main point of contact for the PCL platform. Lead the global administrator community and maintain the administrator program, ensuring standards, processes, and guidelines are applied consistently and administrators are onboarded and trained across the business.
  • Provide strategic guidance on LMS use, learning delivery, and content development while balancing business needs with governance requirements.
  • Advise the business on learning systems best practices, adult learning principles, and effective digital training design, supporting subject matter experts in developing eLearning content using tools such as Articulate and EasyGenerator.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the LMS team, fostering strong collaboration with People Systems and key business stakeholders.
  • Partner with People Systems, project teams, vendors, and site leaders to optimize LMS processes, support system enhancements, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Support LMS implementations and learning initiatives across operating sites through project coordination, effective communication, and activities that encourage smooth adoption of change.
  • Oversee Teck’s on-demand learning content platform, including licensing, curating relevant content, and promoting adoption of self-directed professional development across the organization.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including licensing, system effectiveness, and evaluation of emerging tools and capabilities.
  • Lead enterprise learning reporting and analytics, including KPI dashboards, compliance monitoring, and sustainability reporting contributions.
  • Support budgeting, cost management, testing, and implementation of LMS enhancements and organizational learning projects, including SAP S/4HANA initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in learning, training, or LMS administration within a large, complex organization; SAP SuccessFactors LMS experience is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, Learning & Development, or a related field.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a strong ability to coach, mentor, and develop others.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across operations, corporate functions, and external vendors.
  • Experience with eLearning development tools such as Articulate and EasyGenerator.
  • Strong project and change management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive adoption; Prosci/ADKAR certification an asset.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in learning technology, including AI-enabled learning tools and their application to content development, curation, and the learner experience.
  • Experience in reporting, analytics, dashboard development, and KPI tracking.
