Lead UX Designer - RACE21

Reporting to the Manager of Product, the Lead UX Designer - RACE21™ is responsible for these core activities:

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Lead the UX efforts for multiple teams, ensuring that they design with a strong customer-centric experience in mind
  • Work with production teams and other discipline leadership to manage capacity plans, development, and product roadmap
  • Review and provide feedback for all designers on your team: wireframes, competitive-analysis, focus group & usability reports, mockups & annotated documentation, user-flows, etc...
  • Have frequent one-on-one discussions to solve issues and maintain team health
  • Learn and share best practices with the team
  • Provide mentorship for your team with the development and presentation of their work

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum four years of experience designing consumer-grade products
  • Experience with planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing and rapid prototyping
  • Experience leading UX teams and projects in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate and optimize design based on the value to the user and the business
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting including synthesizing abstract ideas into concrete design implications
  • Strong sense of ownership of solutions and not afraid to speak up to ensure the user perspective is heard by the Product Owner
  • Believes in culture of transparency and trust
  • Experience interacting with distributed teams operating in a variety of timezones
  • Open to learning new ideas outside scope or knowledge skill set to span across UI design, strategy and testing
  • Travel to our sites in the interior of British Columbia 10-20% to build stakeholder relationships
