HRIS Analyst (12-month temporary)

Reporting to the Lead, People Systems, Teck is seeking a skilled SAP SuccessFactors HRIS Analyst who specializes in Employee Central (EC), Compensation, and Variable Pay modules. The ideal candidate brings a deep background in HRIS systems, particularly within the SAP SuccessFactors suite, with a focus on implementing, configuring, and optimizing EC, Compensation, and Variable Pay modules.

 

This position is an initial 12-month term contract with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Possess profound knowledge in Compensation processes, and is an expert in SAP SuccessFactors Compensation module
  • Helps implementation projects achieve their business goals by gathering the information to document the business processes, providing training, and helping the SMEs through all project testing phases
  • Fulfill the role of an SAP authority in Compensation processes and SAP SF Compensation matters, review functional specifications (Workbooks), review/prepare test cases and prepare wireframes/flowcharts/manuals for training material
  • Communicate directly with the business and site SMEs
  • Actively collaborating with the SAP SF Compensation implementation across all Teck Sites and requires extended knowledge and experience in the function of supporting the business implementing Compensation.


1.System Configuration and Maintenance:

 

Configure and maintain SAP SuccessFactors modules including Employee Central, Compensation, and Variable Pay.
Lead integration between Employee Central and Compensation by mapping the fields to fetch information from Employee Central to Compensation and referring to foundation objects.

 

2. End User Support and Training:


Provide ongoing support to end users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and resolving system-related problems in a timely manner.
Develop and deliver training materials and user documentation to promote system adoption and proficiency among HR teams and employees.

 

3. System Enhancement and Upgrades:
 

Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new features within SAP SuccessFactors ecosystem, recommending system enhancements and upgrades as needed to optimize functionality and usability.
Plan and implement system upgrades and patches, coordinating with stakeholders to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth transitions.

 

4. Data Analysis and Reporting:


Use SAP SuccessFactors or PowerBI reporting tools and analytics to generate insights and metrics related to HR processes, employee data, and system performance.
Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports to support HR decision-making and regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Management, Computer Science or similar.

  • Preferred Bilingual (English and Spanish)

  • Minimum of 5 years HR experience, with at least 4 years HR Systems configuration, reporting, training, and testing experience.

  • The following systems experience:

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM – Employee Central, Compensation and Variable Pay and SAP Employee Central Payroll

  • Excel

  • Microsoft Visio or similar process mapping tools

  • Intermediate knowledge of human resources, payroll, and benefits principles and practices.

  • Experience implementing and/or upgrading an HR system (full lifecycle from requirements gathering to aftercare support).

  • Experience in a multinational, geographically dispersed company, with union experience an asset.

  • Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking to resolve issues and suggest solutions and improvements.

  • Strong planning, project management, and organization skills.

  • Customer focused with ability to influence cooperation between vendors, sites, and functions.

  • Clear and concise communicator, with experience delivering training.

  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and tact. Ability to handle confidential and personal information to ensure compliance with PIPA, PIPEDA, and other regional privacy laws.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $101,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
