Global People Systems Analyst

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
Employment Type: Regular Full Time
Workplace Type: Hybrid

About our Vancouver Office

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, between the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains, Teck’s Corporate Office sits in one of Canada’s most culturally diverse cities.

Surrounded by world-renowned nature and globally inspired cuisine, the office brings together many of Teck’s corporate functions - all working toward Teck’s purpose of providing the essential resources the world relies on.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Global Data Owner, HR, the People Systems Data & Technical Analyst is responsible for the technical and data aspects of implementing the Employee Central (EC) module in our existing, live SAP SuccessFactors environment. EC is integral to enable Teck’s implementation of SAP S/4 HANA, which is targeted to go-live in 2027.

The role will also be involved in other HR data activities related to the SAP S/4 HANA implementation. This role will represent Teck and work in conjunction with counterparts from our system integrator.

To be successful, we are looking for someone with outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Having strong problem-solving skills, decision-making abilities, and the ability to prioritize competing demands is critical for success in this role.

Don't miss out on this outstanding opportunity to be part of one of Canada's leading mining companies and join our team!

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Champion Teck’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental responsibility, always modeling safe work practices.
  • Coordinate data migration from source systems, including extracting, transforming, and mapping data into SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) templates, performing cleansing activities, executing data loads, and validating results.
  • Manage and execute regression testing across multiple SuccessFactors modules; coordinate test cycles with HR business users and People Systems sustainment teams.
  • Partner with the Integrations team to validate technical requirements, support development of new integrations, and assist with modifications to existing interfaces.
  • Collaborate with People Systems sustainment teams to review and update configuration elements such as business rules, workflows, dynamic role‑based permissions (RBPs), and dynamic approver logic.
  • Support issue investigation, defect tracking, and resolution activities during project phases including SIT, UAT, and cutover.
  • Ensure adherence to data standards, documentation requirements, and governance processes throughout the implementation of lifecycle.
  • Contribute to project planning, status reporting, and risk identification.
  • Act as the HR data steward for master data governance, supporting its design, implementation, and rollout across HR data — participating in governance workshops, defining data standards, and driving adherence to new processes using Collibra within the HR function.
  • Work closely with the Process Lead for Contingent Workforce Module (CWM) to help understand process and design impacts on data and technical design and coordinate engagement of business resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or other equivalent field of study
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of technical or data conversion experience
  • SAP SucessFactor experience
  • Employee Central (EC) experience
  • Knowledge of building pragmatic solutions that can enable and improve business processes
  • Demonstrate ability to build practical, scalable solutions that enhance or enable business processes
  • Strong data orientation — comfortable analyzing data, identifying issues, and translating findings into meaningful insights or actions
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and structured problem‑solving to support system decisions and troubleshooting problems
  • Strong initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Demonstrates Teck’s dedication to safety and sustainability

Pay Range: CAD $76,000 - $94,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
