The Global Data Owner (GDO), Supply Chain Management (SCM) ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of data within the Supply domain and across the organization, aligning data practices with organizational standards and goals.
This includes enforcing data governance principles, policies, standards, processes, and procedures globally, while also ensuring alignment with the functional owners, other Global Process Owners and other Global Data Owners for implementing data quality requirements
Reporting to the Global Process Owner, Source to Pay, the GDO, SCM will establish data standards and data quality measures across the supply chain processes for all of Teck. Supply chain data includes vendor master, item master, and material master for SAP alongside transactional data recorded as a part of global Source to Pay processes. It will support other global data owners, specifically in Finance and Enterprise Asset Management, to ensure alignment and clarity of impact across the entirety of Teck’s data strategy and landscape.

Responsibilities
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Governance and Compliance:
• Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
• Provide data expertise and guidance on data-related matters
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and organizational standards
• Ensure process governance, monitoring, compliance across the organization
• Ensure continuous improvement, optimization and strategic alignment
• Support data standardization across the company assets including organizational change management aspects as well as training and coaching
• Ensure alignment with organizational standards, governance policies, and compliance requirements
Data Management:
• Oversee data lifecycle management, including data creation, maintenance, and deletion
• Develop and maintain the data architecture to support business processes
• Ensure data integrity and availability for all business process transactions, reporting, and analytics
• Monitor data and manage quality metrics, focusing on accuracy, completeness and consistency while identifying and resolving data issues promptly
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address compliance issues
• Identify and address bottlenecks or inefficiencies
• Review data requirements to adapt to changing business or technology needs
• Ensure data is managed effectively to support measurement of enterprise performance management outcomes via descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, enabling the organization to position itself within the top quartile Total Shareholder Return (TSR)
Additional Responsibilities
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Partner with business owners, functional teams, GPOs and other GDOs to manage cross-functional and operational dependencies to ensure cohesion across the company
Partner with business analysts and other stakeholders to ensure data supports business processes and decision-making - Collaborate with functional owners to ensure master data supports broader service outcomes.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to support data initiatives and projects
- Align with cross-functional teams to minimize silos and enhance integration
Change and Risk Management:
- Proactively identify risks and implement controls to mitigate them.
- Drive process-related change initiatives in alignment with transformation goals
Training and Capability Development:
- Educate and train teams on best practices, tools, and standards.
- Act as a resource for knowledge sharing on process management within the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Data Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience with the related business processes and data. Previous experience in in data management or data governance preferred
- Proficiency in data management and data governance principles
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and tact. Ability to handle confidential information to ensure compliance with PIPA, PIPEDA, and other regional privacy laws
- Strong understanding of the data domain and its use across the enterprise
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality
- Knowledge of data modeling and database design relevant to the business function
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking to resolve issues and suggest solutions and improvements
- Strong planning, project management, and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
- Familiarity with relevant data privacy and security regulations
Additional Qualifications
- Ability to assess complex business processes, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven solutions for improvement
- Deep understanding of internal Teck dynamics, able to utilize corporate intelligence to inform direction an asset
- Strong ability to work across functional and geographical boundaries, building collaborative relationships to drive integration and adoption. Demonstrated success working with all levels of management
- Experience working in an international organization, supporting executive-level decision-making, and implementing cross-organizational initiatives
- Clear communication and influencing skills including strong conflict resolution skills between leaders, business owners and functional teams
- Ability to align data architecture design with strategic objectives while ensuring operational efficiency at a global scale
- Ability to support transformation initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

Salary Range: $119,000 - $147,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
