Geologist - Red Dog Field Season 2025

Location:

Vancouver, British Columbia, CA Red Dog, AK, US

Closing Date: February 7, 2025

Teck is a leading Canadian resource company focused on responsibly providing the metals essential for global development and the energy transition while caring for the people, communities and land that we love.

Teck's two regional business units, North America and Latin America, are responsible for Teck's assets through all phases of safe, sustainable development, operation and closure. The business units are supported by enterprise-wide functions that set strategic direction, establish standards and provide governance, as well as supporting the business through shared services, centres of excellence and business partnering.

Teck is looking for motivated geologists excited to support Teck’s exploration efforts in the world-class Red Dog District in the De Long Mountain range of northwestern Alaska, U.S.A.

Successful applicants will primarily support the Anarraaq – Aktigiruk Expansion Project (AAEP), an advanced-stage, sediment-hosted Zn – Pb – Ag drilling program, which will primarily be related to core-logging and sampling. Geologists will also be able to participate in field programs related to exploration for early-stage sediment-hosted Zn – Pb targets within the Red Dog district.

Reporting to the Senior Project Geologist, the Geologist will be responsible for work, including collecting and synthesizing geologic data from core and field samples, supporting program logistics, and collaborating with a variety of contractors to support the requirements of the 2025 exploration program.

Geologists will be exposed to working in a large, diverse, multidisciplinary geoscience team based out of Teck’s remote Red Dog Operations. Field programs are planned to begin early spring through the fall, and work rotations will consist of roughly 15 days on (in the field), followed by 13 days off between shifts.

This is a temporary seasonal role, anticipated to run from approximately April to October 2025 with potential for extension and further opportunities on other Teck projects in Canada/USA

This role is located at our site in Alaska (Red Dog), therefore we are open to US citizens/PR who have the legal ability to work in the US. As well, those with the legal capacity to acquire a US work visa who are non-US citizens/PR (Canadian Citizens/PR). We will provide support to non-US citizens/PR to acquire a US work visa.
