Engagement Specialist Co-op, M365 & AI Business Tools

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in  Business, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline. We are seeking an Engagement Specialist Coop to help drive adoption of Teck’s Microsoft Business Productivity Cloud—the integrated ecosystem of Microsoft 365, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the Power Platform. You will champion Citizen Development (business users creating solutions with lowcode/nocode tools) and Digital Work Innovation (leveraging Copilot and core Microsoft 365 workloads) by crafting compelling communications and engagement activities for colleagues across a wide range of technical backgrounds.

 If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term.. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

Salary Range: $4,000 - $5,100 / Month 

Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Amplify adoption stories: Engage the Digital Maker / Productivity Cloud community (Viva Engage/Yammer, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform & Copilot forums) to highlight wins, showcase innovative solutions, and foster peertopeer learning
  • Translate tech to plain English: Turn complex M365, Copilot, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI concepts into clear, friendly messaging that resonates with nontechnical audiences
  • Create & curate content: Draft, review, and proofread blog posts, intranet pages, howto guides, short videos, and social posts; ensure all assets follow corporate brand guidelines
  • Design basic visuals: Support presentations, infographics, posters, and internal campaign materials that promote Copilot tips, M365 best practices, and Citizen Developer success stories
  • Nurture an innovation community: Help plan and host virtual events—office hours, “app / workflow showcases,” Copilot labs, and champion roundtables—to sustain excitement and knowledgesharing
  • Contribute to enablement programs: Assist with training logistics, feedback collection, and continuous improvement of onboarding resources for both new platform users and experienced makers
  • Metrics & insights: Track engagement KPIs (event attendance, post reach, solution adoption) and surface insights that inform communications strategy and highlight business value

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Business, Communications, Marketing, or related discipline within an accredited coop program
  • Proven writing and editing skills; experience crafting content for diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, etc.); familiarity with Power Platform components (Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio) and/or M365 Copilot is a strong asset
  • Socialmedia channel management experience—skilled at planning, scheduling, and publishing content across Viva Engage/Yammer, Teams, and SharePoint for diverse audiences (including Spanishspeaking users in LATAM). Able to maintain a content calendar and backlog to deliver Weekly Power Tips, “What’s New” updates, Monthly Newsletters, and Maker successstory features while adapting tone, language, and format for each community
  • Genuine interest in cloud platforms, generative AI, and Citizen Development—and the curiosity to learn them quickly
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and brand consistency
  • Engaging storyteller who can humanize technical achievements and spotlight empowerment and innovation
  • Strong organizational skills; able to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment
  • Video production (iMovie, Camtasia, Clipchamp, etc.) and graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, or similar) experience are valuable assets
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively; proactive, resourceful, adaptable, and empathetic
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp new technologies rapidly and explain them with clarity and enthusiasm
  • Confident communicator who can adjust tone and depth to reach both technical specialists and nontechnical stakeholders
