Reporting to the Manager, Project Manager Office, the Cyber Security Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and successfully delivering cybersecurity initiatives across Teck Digital Systems (TDS).
This role manages project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and stakeholder communications to ensure cybersecurity projects align with enterprise security strategy, operational requirements, and governance standards.
The Cyber Security Project Manager will oversee initiatives related to areas such as:
• Security monitoring
• Identity & access management
• Network security
• OT/IT security integration
• Infrastructure hardening
• Security tooling deployments
• Compliance and resiliency initiatives
This role ensures cybersecurity solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational and enterprise security objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Create project documents and associated planning documentation.
• Facilitate effective project scheduling, activity tracking, monitoring, controlling, and change control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage unresolved risks and issues, including mitigation planning, resolution options, and escalation recommendations.
• Prepare regular project status reports including project deliverables, risks/issues, timelines, milestones, and forecasted effort to completion.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, operational sites, and business stakeholders to ensure successful execution of cybersecurity initiatives.
• Support governance, audit, compliance, and operational readiness activities associated with cybersecurity programs.
• Additional responsibilities as required by the PMO Team Lead, including vendor coordination, deliverable tracking, testing support, operational readiness activities, and requirements traceability.
Safety Leadership
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
Cyber Security Delivery Governance
• Utilize established project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) depending on project context.
• Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) with clear mitigation and escalation plans.
• Lead steering committee updates, governance reporting, and executive communications.
• Ensure cybersecurity projects align with organizational governance, architecture, operational technology (OT), and compliance requirements.
• Support the development and maintenance of project management standards, procedures, and delivery frameworks.
Project Management
• Lead end-to-end project lifecycle activities from initiation and planning through implementation, testing, deployment, transition to operations, and project close-out.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, financial forecasts, resource allocations, and risk/issue logs.
• Ensure project objectives, timelines, and budgets are met while maintaining delivery quality and operational stability.
• Coordinate change management activities including communication plans, stakeholder engagement, training, and operational readiness.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with Teck Digital Systems governance processes and cybersecurity standards.
• Manage interdependencies across infrastructure, cybersecurity, operational technology (OT), enterprise applications, and site operations.
Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary liaison between cybersecurity teams, business stakeholders, operational sites, IT teams, vendors, and external partners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops, planning sessions, and governance meetings to gather requirements, validate scope, and ensure alignment.
• Provide regular project status updates to executive sponsors, steering committees, and operational stakeholders.
• Escalate risks, issues, and resource constraints proactively to ensure no surprises in delivery.
Technical & Operational Coordination
• Coordinate implementation activities involving cybersecurity tools, infrastructure upgrades, integrations, and operational technology environments.
• Support testing coordination, operational readiness activities, cutover planning, and transition to sustainment.
• Ensure technical and functional documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained.
• Support issue triage and resolution activities during testing, deployment, and post-implementation stabilization phases.
• Coordinate security assessments, remediation activities, and compliance-driven initiatives where required.
Vendor & Partner Management
• Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors, consultants, implementation partners, and managed service providers.
• Review vendor deliverables, Statements of Work (SOWs), project change requests, and implementation plans.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and delivery expectations.
Relationship Focus
• Builds collaborative relationships across business units, operational sites, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and external partners.
• Promotes trust, transparency, and alignment across stakeholders.

o Security Governance & Compliance
• Experience delivering projects in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience working with operational technology (OT) environments is considered an asset.

• Experience managing cross-functional technical and operational teams.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
• Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project or Azure DevOps
• PMP certification or equivalent project management experience required
