Communications Co-op

For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration. If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.
Reporting to the Communications and Government Affairs (CGA) Communications Specialist, the Communications Co-op will support the CGA team in preparing for the launch of our new Digital Asset Management platform in SharePoint as well as support our corporate events team with administrative tasks and event support. The ideal candidate will be organized, thorough, and work well independently and with others in a fast-paced environment.

Salary Range: $4000 - $5100 / Month
Salary is commensurate with the number of academic semesters and prior co-op experiences completed.
Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Support the launch of the new Digital Asset Management platform in SharePoint, including coordinating and categorizing photo and video assets within the current platform, quality assurance testing and launch planning
- Assist with the planning and coordination of corporate events, including venue and product sourcing, logistics, and on-site event support
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and maintaining event documentation and expense tracking
- Provide general support to the Corporate Events and Communications Teams as needed
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Event Management)
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to coordinate projects simultaneously on fast timelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with SharePoint is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize tasks optimally
- Attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive demeanour
- Able to learn quickly, exercise good judgment and demonstrate initiative
