Role Overview

 

Reporting to the MIS Lead, the Business Intelligence Developer, MIS (Reporting) is responsible for developing the reporting and insights layer for Operations.

 

This role will support the development of Site OPRs, Enterprise Performance Reporting, operational analytics, and AI-enabled reporting. The focus is to convert centralized site data into trusted, comparable, and decision-ready performance intelligence for Operations leadership.

 

The role is critical to strengthening MIS as the Operations owner of performance intelligence, ensuring reporting reflects operational business logic, supports performance conversations, and enables better decision-making across sites.

 

This role is a 6 month contract.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Build and enhance reporting data models that consolidate operational performance data across sites.
  • Develop and maintain Site OPRs and Enterprise Performance Reporting, including monthly reconciled views and daily operational views.
  • Standardize reporting logic so operational performance can be compared consistently across sites.
  • Translate operational performance questions into clear reporting, analytics, and insight products.
  • Develop Power BI reports, tabular factsheets, executive reporting outputs, and operational analytics.
  • Support AI-enabled reporting and narrative insights where practical.
  • Maintain clear documentation of metric definitions, reporting logic, assumptions, limitations, and data dependencies.
  • Work with the Site Enablement Specialist to ensure centralized site data is fit for operational and enterprise reporting.
  • Partner with sites, TDS, EDP, and Data Governance teams to ensure reporting outputs reflect operational business needs.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting effort through automation, standardization, and repeatable reporting processes.
  • Support transition activities to ensure reporting logic and business requirements are ready for long-term EDP sustainment.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing operational reports, dashboards, data models, analytics products, or performance reporting.
  • Strong capability with Power BI, Power Apps, Fabric, Power Automate, SQL, Databricks, Excel, Power Query, or similar reporting and data modelling tools.
  • Strong understanding of performance metrics, business logic, and executive reporting needs.
  • Ability to convert complex operational data into clear, decision-ready insights.
  • Experience with automation, AI-enabled reporting, advanced analytics, or narrative reporting is an asset.
  • Mining, processing, maintenance, supply chain, operations, or heavy industry experience is preferred.

 

Pay Range: CAD $null - $null per year
