Role Overview
The Business Analytics Specialist is a core member of Teck’s Operations Excellence Improvement Team, a small corporate group that augments site improvement efforts. This position is a member of a team responsible for the development, execution, and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives to achieve business value across our operations.

Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures with a particular focus on understanding and complying with all site access and safety regulations across Teck’s operating sites.
- Be the primary source of reliable data and rock-solid analysis, providing the fact base the team uses to make decisions
- Act as a core resource in ranging exercises, predictive analytics, performance reporting, economic modelling, and value chain mapping to help Teck leaders make data driven decisions.
- Design, develop, and maintain business analytics solutions and reporting tools to transform data into valuable insights and drive informed decision-making. Create performance tracking dashboards and advanced / predictive analytics using tools like Monte Carlo, Excel, Power BI, SQL, Python, Azure Databricks, etc.
- Develop implementation plans for a portfolio of initiatives that have clear consensus and are on board with key partners, aligned with Teck’s strategic pipeline.
- Keep an eye on the development of your progress projects using metrics like impact on indicators, adoption by end users, and adherence to schedule and budget.
- In addition, collaborate with teams to proactively identify risks, issues and/or opportunities to ensure the maximum business value delivered.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional expereince in process improvement, cost reduction, mining operations, engineering, and planning.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- Experience with databases, data analytics, and business intelligence tools (SQL, PowerBI, Python).
- Excellent interpersonal skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.

Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
