Accounts Payable Clerk (Contract)


Vancouver, British Columbia, CA

Reporting to the Supervisor Procurement, the AP Clerk is responsible for posting and maintaining Digital systems expenditures and administering the project and budget cost tracking system. The AP Clerk will ensure purchasing invoices are consistent with the accompanying purchase orders or contracts, and ensure the correct rates are implemented.



  • Receive invoices (Consulting & Vendor)
  • Prepare invoices for submission to Finance for timely payment
  • Ensure consultant invoices match timesheet entries
  • Compare consultant invoices with timesheet entries and report inconsistencies and manage corrections
  • Present the invoices to delegated authorities for approvals
  • Liaise with vendors/consulting firms/recruiters to correct errors
  • Prepare accruals list at year end and monthly coal and consultant accruals
  • Administer the invoice and budget tracking application, and manage the IS Accounts Payable inbox
  • Reconcile employee visa monthly expense reports



  • Basic understanding of accounting (accruals, payment cycle, capitalization, budgeting)
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to connect with staff at various levels of responsibility
  • Strong attention to detail, a quick learner, and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
