Role Overview
Reporting to a Production Superintendent, the Shift Leader will be accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the plants and for the development and training of employees reporting to them.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Develop and train direct reports
- Ensure the plant is operated in conformance with site policies and targets
- Collaborate with various departments to maintain operational readiness
- Facilitate and perform troubleshooting in support operational readiness
- Communicate and Coordinate with upstream and downstream plants
- Schedule crew training, vacation, and replacements for absences
- EH&S supervisory responsibilities as per WorkSafe BC and site policy
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in an industrial environment
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Exposure working in a unionized environment and knowledge of Collective Agreements
- Able to plan and organize your own work as well as the work of others
- Good oral and written communication skills promoting open communication and demonstrating respect for others
- Strong work ethic and high standards of performance for self and work team
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability and willingness to learn
Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
