Teck Resources Limited is looking for a motivated Process Operator at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Shift Leader.
 

This role is in the welcoming community of Trail, situated in the beautiful West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Here you will find outdoor adventure at your fingertips! Responsibilities:

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Monitor and control large-scale industrial equipment and systems to meet quality and production standards.
  • Diagnose and correct operating problems
  • Observe all applicable safety, quality, environmental and hygiene regulations
  • Operate control systems, valves, generators, compressor, fans, pumps, filters, motors, conveyor systems, cranes, and small mobile equipment
  • Initiate maintenance orders
  • Make basic adjustments to equipment
  • Assist trades people as directed
     

Qualifications:

 

  • Applicants must provide proof of WHMIS certification and completion of Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial work experience and/or 1 year of post-secondary education
  • Mechanical skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work cohesively as a member of a small work team are essential to achieve success in these demanding roles
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in an assessment process designed to measure fitness, strength, aptitudes, analytical and problem-solving skills, cooperation, teamwork and personal attributes
