Role Overview
Teck is looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join our team at our Trail Operations, a large, integrated, multi-metals smelting and refining complex. Reporting to the Superintendent, Strategic Projects, the Process Engineer offers a unique opportunity to apply technical expertise in process engineering to support strategic initiatives that enhance operational performance, sustainability, and long-term value. Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Apply deep understanding of process engineering principles to evaluate, optimize, and support flowsheet modifications
- Conduct technical studies and provide recommendations based on measurement, calculation, analysis, interpretation, and documentation
- Support the development of business cases and economic models for strategic initiatives, including critical minerals production, decarbonization and feed strategy integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Metallurgy & Technology, Business Planning, Operations, and external consultants to align technical solutions with strategic goals
- Ensure integration of strategic projects with the current flowsheet and operational context
- Maintain a strong field presence to support alignment, troubleshooting, and idea development
- Engage with external stakeholders such as corporate teams and government bodies
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on initiative status, including progress, risks, and issues
- Maintain comprehensive documentation using current and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Process Engineering is required.
- Applicants need to be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (“EGBC”) as this will be a condition of employment. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in process engineering within an industrial or operational setting, preferably with a metals or mining company
- Experience with metallurgical flowsheet development, process optimization, and operational troubleshooting
- Excellent computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
