Role Overview
For this exciting position, we are looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering student who is interested to get hands-on experience at our operations at Trail. If you have experience working within an industrial environment, this is a great position for you!
Application Deadline: October 23, 2025 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis)
Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed.
If you are not currently located in the area of this co-op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co-op term. You must be a student currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution, who will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term, and returning back to post-secondary institution once co-op term is completed. Proof of a valid work permit will be required, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Project Management: opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects in a processing plant,; responsible for organizing, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
- Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost effective solutions
- Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed designs for mechanical projects on site such as upgrades to equipment building facilities
- Coordinate the plan and schedule for maintenance shutdown work
- Supporting operations and work with skilled trades to fix equipment failure and develop repair scopes of work
- Build and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Qualifications
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Comfortable working in a multi-faceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and a solid understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks would be advantageous
Pay Range: CAD $5,000 - $6,000 per month
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
