Role Overview

Teck is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team at our Trail Operations. Reporting to the Group Leader, the Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for the below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Operates pressure pump to transfer liquid refrigerants to portable tanks using scale, valve, wrenches and charging hose
  • Inspects, flushes, cleans, tests and repairs all piping systems containing refrigerant, brine or glycol cooling agents
  • Repairs and replaces tubes in refrigeration system using flaring and swading tools, fastening devices, couplings and wrenches
  • Installs, repairs and replaces mechanical refrigeration system electrical components; solders and brazes connections
  • Installs and calibrates refrigeration system thermostats and pneumatic controllers

Qualifications

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Refrigeration Mechanic Certification (please upload copy of certification with your application)
  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED Certificate (please submit a copy of certificate to application)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance environment and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems would be a definite asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
