Role Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, Shared Resources the Group Leader, Maintenance Support is accountable for coordinating and directing maintenance and property support to Trail Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Follow the Teck reliability and maintenance process in prioritizing, planning and scheduling crews to maximize utilization and equipment availability.
  • Assign tasks & monitor progress to ensure quality and efficiency adhere to defined standards. 
  • Respond to operational needs by reassigning trades resources for unplanned work with follow-up to continuously minimize unplanned work
  • Assist personnel by investigating maintenance problems, recommending solutions, providing technical direction and advice and providing assistance in the selection of equipment
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to coordinate maintenance work and ensure work is performed according to regulatory and Trail Operations standards
  • Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to provide real-time equipment condition into the development of asset management plans
  • Ensure a well-trained crew by using performance management principles implementing training programs, scheduling employees for training and evaluating on the job performance
  • Follow the Teck Reliability & Maintenance process & JDE system to maintain master data for parts and equipment information and capture repair and failure history for improvement
  • Do efficient cost management by preparing section budget, monitoring costs and understanding variances
  • Continuously develop crew capability through identified training programs, training, coaching and evaluating on the job performance
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of personnel and union conflicts
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities utilizing performance management techniques and as outlined in the Supervisor's Manual
  • Perform all other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Trades Certification, Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar
  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Basic typing skills and experience with the Microsoft Office® package, especially Outlook, Word and Excel, are necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, proven human relation skills and follow-up skills are required
  • Familiar with maintenance processes and system software would be an asset
  • A proven team player and able to work well in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment

Pay Range: CAD $107,000 - $132,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
