Role Overview

Teck is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our team at our Trail Operations, one of the world's largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes. Reporting to the Superintendent, Integrated Production, the Business Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop "what-if" scenarios, analyze performance data, and support continuous improvement across Trail Operations. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in data analysis, operational performance improvement and scenario modeling, who is eager to contribute to integrated production planning and control, performance tracking and planning.

Key Responsibilities

· Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

· Develop and maintain "what-if" models to support operational planning and forecasting

· Collaborate with operations and planning teams to evaluate the impact of changes in production rates, input variables, and process configurations

· Conduct pricing sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of market fluctuations on operational performance

· Support long-range planning and short-term forecasting through data-driven scenario analysis

· Collect, validate, and analyze operational data

· Build and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs, production metrics, and performance

· Support monthly performance reviews with actionable insights and trend analysis

· Assist in developing operational plans and budgets by providing scenario-based insights

· Identify key drivers of performance and recommend actions to optimize production and profitability

· Provide input into strategic initiatives by modeling potential outcomes and risks

· Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into analytical outputs

· Communicate complex data and modeling results in a clear, concise manner to support decision-making at all levels

· Utilize tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, SQL, and ERP systems to extract and analyze data

· Support the implementation and optimization of digital tools and systems used in operations and reporting

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field is required

· 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or data analyst role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting is required

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is an asset

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Pay Range: CAD $110,000 - $147,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
