Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Analyst handles a full range of Accounting functions. They also perform monthly reconciliations for the Toronto Marketing and Sales Office.

Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Lead all aspects of daily accounting activities and cash applications from banks to accounts payable in various business areas.
- Own the full cycle of preparing weekly vendor payments and matching accrued costs in SAP with vendor invoices. Address discrepancies with the traffic group team promptly. About 90% of weekly duties focus on the accounts payable process.
- Follow up with vendors on missing invoice copies and respond to payment inquiries promptly.
- Carry full responsibility for the complete month-end process, including bank reconciliations, preparation of inter-office advices for taxes, balancing cash balances with the Vancouver head office, freight allocations, shipment cost reviews, balancing sales and distribution costs, and aligning AR/AP sub-ledgers to GL.
- Coordinate month-end shipment reconciliations, including matching reports received from the site.
- Assist with internal and external audits, pulling required sample requests in a timely manner.
- Prepare the daily price upload in SAP by capturing appropriate information from various sources.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain prolonged, detail-focused concentration, manage the physical demands of extensive computer use, and perform accurately in fast-paced, demanding conditions.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.
- Work in an open-concept style workspace with normal physical effort required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or 2-3 years of related experience.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel programs; SAP experience is a significant asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven time and priority management skills.
- Quick learner who is a self-starter – this position operates in a fast-paced environment, so good interpersonal skills are a must.

Pay Range: CAD $67,000 - $82,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
