Highland Valley Copper (HVC) Operations is Canada’s largest open-pit copper mine and molybdenum operation. HVC produces both copper and molybdenum concentrate through autogenous and semi-autogenous grinding and flotation.
Located approximately 17 kilometers west of Logan Lake and about 50 kilometers southwest of Kamloops in British Columbia, the surrounding areas of HVC have an abundant offering of outdoor experiences.

Reporting to the Lead, Digital Systems, the Technical Support Analyst, is responsible for providing end-user computing support. This role requires hands-on support with excellent customer service and communication skills to develop positive relationships with clients and technical teams.
The successful candidate will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and an exceptional ability to influence, problem solve, troubleshoot and can translate technical information to people of diverse skillsets and backgrounds. We are seeking an individual who is self-motivated, but collaborates well within a team, and has a passion for continuous improvement.
This is an initial 12-month contract to start based on-site at Highland Valley Copper.

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
-
Provide technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, mobile devices, printers, peripherals, and software within defined standards
-
Provide basic network and server support as required
-
Collaborate with vendor support teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
-
Coordinate hardware and software procurement by working with internal procurement teams
-
Assess user requirements to establish appropriate technology solutions
-
Respond to support requests via ticketing system, phone, email, and chat, ensuring timely updates and resolutions
-
Document incident and request history in the ticketing system
-
Develop and update Knowledge Base articles to support internal documentation
-
Participate in special projects and IT service management improvements, including Service Desk operations, service requests, and problem management
-
Advance complex issues to appropriate IT teams while ensuring resolution
-
Coordinate third-party technical support when necessary and follow up on outstanding issues.

Collaborate with business partners to understand and address IT support needs
Qualifications:
-
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a technical diploma with a combination of relevant experience or certifications (CompTIA A+, ITIL, M365/O365 certifications, etc.)

2-3 years of experience with delivering and supporting IT services, network infrastructure or relevant experience in an industrial setting, preferably in mining
-
Knowledge of Windows desktop and server OS, virtualization, Active Directory, and computer networking fundamentals

Positive interpersonal skills with a dedicated customer service orientation

Experience supporting and resolving issues with M365, Microsoft Azure, ServiceNow
-
Understanding of ITIL best practices; experience implementing within a project environment would be an asset
-
Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently

Valid class five drivers' license
-
Working level Spanish is an asset

- Location: Highland Valley Copper is a 50-minute drive from Kamloops, which has all of the comforts of city living and is also close to Merritt, Ashcroft, and Logan Lake, which all exude a small town community atmosphere.
- Access: This is a drive-in/drive-out role. Most employees commute to site by car, and carpooling is common among team members.
