Senior Process Engineer


Sparwood, BC, CA

Reporting to the Business Improvement Process Engineering Supervisor or Superintendent, the Senior Process Engineer is responsible evaluating process improvement initiatives that benefit sites across our Coal business unit. This role will coordinate with internal groups and site teams and will be a leader in change management.   


To be successful, we are looking for someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills who can learn existing software systems and business processes quickly; someone with a keen interest in developing leadership, and mentoring others. This role requires an individual with strong analytical skills and sound judgement who can own their role by taking initiative and staying accountable for delivering strong project outcomes in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Experience with change management and innovation, as well as proven abilities in project management are vital.

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Identify and implement procedures or equipment to improve the efficiency and throughput of the process
  • Proactively evaluate and propose improvement opportunities
  • Analyze performance data and provide recommendations to improve our operations
  • Provide technical input to projects relating to the improvement and modification of our processing facilities




  • Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Minimum seven years of related experience
  • Experience with project management with a successful track record of delivering strong project outcomes
  • Experience with change management and innovation
  • Training in coal processing and handling techniques will be provided as needed
