Senior Maintenance Specialist

Sparwood, BC, CA

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance Improvement, the Senior Maintenance Specialist is responsible for implementing and supporting leading practices across our North and South American operations. You will focus on planning and scheduling continuous improvement activities to achieve sustainable long-term objectives.

Someone who supports a strong safety culture, is meticulous in their work, and can prioritize contending demands in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure integration and improve value
  • Identify, understand, and quantify process risks that may impact performance to safety, cost, production, and quality
  • Optimize and support employee work performance and efficiency by providing leadership, training, and development opportunities, coaching and mentoring staff, and completing evaluations
  • Deliver maintenance projects with key success factors aligned to the project business case, including health and safety, environmental compliance, schedule, cost, and quality
  • Coordinate the development and sharing of ‘Best Practice’ templates for work planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Coordinate working groups across the various sites to ensure effective learning and sharing in the communities of practice for maintenance execution, planning, and scheduling
  • Ensure accurate master data in the various maintenance systems and databases
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement improvements and fixes to both software and hardware that support the maintenance function
  • Coordinate with RACE21™ and other partners to incorporate new technologies in the Teck Maintenance Program

 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional, or the ability to acquire
  • Minimum ten years demonstrated ability in a maintenance role, in an industrial environment
  • Minimum five years supervising or leading a team
  • Experience in project execution
  • Strong familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI for data analysis and reporting
