Senior Maintenance Engineer, Water Quality Management

Reporting to the Water Quality Management (WQM) Operations Maintenance Senior Engineering Supervisor, the Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for all WQM area maintenance activities. This position plays a vital role in providing leadership, mentoring and direction for the site-based maintenance teams, including Maintenance Planners and Engineers, through commissioning and operation of large-scale water treatment facilities.

Someone who is upbeat, self-motivated, who can multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated abilities in leadership, organization, and planning as well as the ability to remain adaptable in a dynamic environment is vital in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Drive various Reliability programs including the principles of predictive and preventative maintenance
  • Look for and drive continuous improvement ideas by appplying lessons learned including areas focused on technology and innovation
  • Direct the troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root cause and initiate appropriate remedial action
  • Lead and mentor multiple maintenance Planners and Engineers throughout different stages or their careers
  • Participate in and advocate for Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) applications, including interpretation of CBM data
  • Track and report reliability Key Performance Indicators and manage the overall bad actor program and processes
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency of the maintenance department by performing other technical functions as assigned
  • Update Process and Instrumentation Drawings and provide new project design reviews

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent, experience with electrical or mechanical experience an asset
  • P.Eng with Engineers and Geoscientist of British Columbia (EGBC) or eligibility to be registered
  • Minimum seven years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems
