Reporting to the Supervisor, Technical Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing financial information for our Mine Sites, Vancouver Head Office, and other users to enable value-added decision making. This position is vital to our process standardization and continuous improvement efforts.

The ability to work independently and collaborate with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is important. This person also has advanced analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Prepare and reconcile reports for mine site contacts, project managers and Vancouver Head Office; working to standardize and streamline the systems and processes to gather, analyze, interpret and report financial and statistical data
Prepare financial transactions in compliance with corporate policies and procedures
Assist with the accurate and timely completion of month end close reporting
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations
Assist with the provision of quarterly and annual financial, audit and tax reporting requirements, including disclosure information

Qualifications:

Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) or willing to attain designation
Minimum five years’ accounting experience
Strong digital literacy, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite®; Excel, Word, and Outlook
Working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards with strong technical accounting knowledge is an asset
Experience with tax reporting or tax compilation is an asset
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP, Atlas XL, and SharePoint is an asset

Salary Range: $90,000 - $111,000

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
