Job Summary


Galore Creek Mining Corporation is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented HR Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations with a strong focus on payroll administration. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting employees, coordinating key HR processes, and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources and a dotted line to the Manager, Accounting and Administration, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for maintaining employee information in Galore Creek’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and supporting payroll processing with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, and supporting benefit administration-related duties as well as other ad hoc duties.

Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS and payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now an asset)
  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes
  • Track time off, leaves, and absences; ensure related payroll adjustments are accurate
  • Digitally file employee documents on SharePoint using accurate naming conventions
  • Assists with system testing and HR audits
  • Involvement in the application of Human Resources policies and procedures, salary and benefits administration, interpersonal communications, performance management and other project work as assigned
  • Maintain confidentiality and support compliance with all relevant legislation (e.g. BC Employment Standards Act)
  • Support semi-monthly payroll processing in collaboration with Finance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Participate in team meetings and trainings
  • Draft letters and communications as needed
  • Generate reports and provide data analysis support to HR, Finance and leadership
  • Assist with HR projects and support colleagues in their tasks as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

  • 2+ years of experience in HR coordination and/or payroll administration
  • Post-secondary education in HR, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/payroll system (VIP, SAP
  • SuccessFactors) is a strong asset
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy, as well as strong analytical skills
  • Proactive and customer service-focused
  • Adaptable and flexible, as well as open to learning and trying new things
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work under minimal direction and be able to coordinate several tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and a high level of integrity
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

 

Pay Range (Annual Salary): 65,000 - 80,000

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
