Reporting to the Manager, Asset Management, the Senior Engineer Supervisor, Projects is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the D Model Relife Project and for coordinating all mine life extension truck purchases. This role provides single-point accountability for assigned mobile asset capital projects and rebuild programs, ensuring initiatives are delivered safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and in alignment with site reliability, production, asset integrity, and capital governance strategies.

 

To be successful, we require someone with a strong project management background and demonstrated experience delivering complex capital and mobile asset projects within an industrial or mining environment. This role requires disciplined execution, structured governance, and the ability to coordinate across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, contractors, OEMs, and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhering to and sponsoring safety, sustainability, environmental requirements, and Teck’s Life Saving Commitments
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out of the D Model Relife Project
  • Coordinate all mine life extension truck purchases from specification through delivery, commissioning, and operational handover
  • Act as the single point of accountability for assigned mobile asset capital projects and rebuild programs
  • Develop and maintain project charters, detailed schedules, capital budgets, cash flow forecasts, and risk registers
  • Define and control project scope, ensuring effective change management for scope, cost, and schedule impacts
  • Develop integrated schedules that align mobile asset builds and truck deliveries with production and maintenance requirements
  • Manage capital and operating budgets, including cost forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reporting
  • Lead contractor and OEM selection, onboarding, and performance management, ensuring contracts clearly define deliverables, timelines, quality, and safety expectations
  • Ensure procurement timelines for trucks, rebuild components, and mobile asset parts align with project execution requirements
  • Ensure full compliance with site safety standards, regulatory requirements, engineering standards, and capital governance processes
  • Coordinate with Reliability and Asset Health teams to embed maintainability, life cycle cost optimization, and failure prevention strategies into project design
  • Ensure structured commissioning, testing, documentation, and readiness prior to operational handover, including maintenance strategies, PM programs, spares lists, OEM documentation, and CMMS integration
  • Provide clear progress updates, financial forecasts, KPI tracking, and risk reporting to senior leadership, proactively escalating emerging risks

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • A Professional Engineering (P. Eng) designation, registered or eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
  • Minimum 10 years successful experience in engineering management roles on major infrastructure, mining and/or process plant projects
  • Demonstrated experience managing scope, cost, schedule, contractor performance, and capital governance requirements
  • Strong understanding of mobile equipment lifecycle management, asset integrity principles, and commissioning processes
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and provide structured decision support to senior leadership
  • Previous experience with working with unionized workforce

Salary Range: CAD $135,000 - $167,000 per year
