Role Overview
Reporting to the Manager, Integrated Operations & Improvement, the Superintendent, Integrated Planning (IPlan) will be responsible for the development of the mid- and short-range integrated plans and drive decision making through trade-off analysis and variance management. This role must work with various teams across the value chain such as Integrated Production (IProd), Tailings & Environment, Asset Management, mine and mill Operations & Maintenance Execution and various support functions.
Rotation will be two weeks on-site with one week off-site
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the development of an executable and optimized budget, 5-year plan, 1-year plan, monthly forecast, and weekly plan, embedding projects and longer term Environmental, Community and Sustainability commitments into planning and execution.
• Oversee the execution of QA/QC processes on cross-departmental planning input parameters and establish constructive feedback channels to ensure accurate and realistic inputs.
• Manage trade-off analysis to ensure decision quality across short and mid-range planning time horizons.
• Oversee execution of continuous improvement initiatives for the Integrated Planning team and processes.
• Oversee team development including assessment of team performance, professional development discussions, identification of learning and growth opportunities, and succession planning.
• Ensure collaboration occurs to allow the team to produce one integrated plan that encompasses the value chain.
• Manage mid- and short-range plan changes through the variance management process and ensure controllable causes for variances are mitigated or eliminated in future plans.
• Support Integrated Production team in providing recommendations to execution teams on operational decisions driven by trade-offs, including for the variance response to plan process.
• Support the development of operating modes and targeted action response plans (TARP).
• Support Integrated Production team with initiating and executing an Operating Mode Shift.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation and reporting of production, haulage, and shipping performance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (Mining, Metallurgical, Industrial, Geological, etc.) is required.
• Minimum ten (10) years working in a mining environment with strong knowledge of mine/mill planning, scheduling, and the overall mine/mill operational environment.
• Must have prior experience coordinating and supervising technical teams.
• Strong communicator, able to communicate with key stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Highly motivated team player with ability to develop strong relationships across multi operational disciplines.
• Exhibit courageous leadership in providing guidance in a variety of situations and environments.
• Efficiently work under high pressure situations and embed effective time management in execution of responsibilities.
• Advanced software skills in MS Office, especially spreadsheet.
• Knowledge of PowerBI and/or other data analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with Planning Software (MineSight, Vulcan or other).
