Role Overview
Reporting to the Lead, Community Programs for the Red Dog Mine Life Extension, this role provides clerical and administrative support for the Community Reporter Program.
Key Responsibilities
• Clerical & Administrative Support
o Provide general administrative assistance for the Community Reporter Program
o Answer phones, manage files, and handle office tasks as needed
o Assist the Lead, Community Programs with clerical support for compiling and editing reports, and distributing data to stakeholders
• Scheduling & Coordination
o Schedule Community Reporter observation activities
o Coordinate travel and lodging arrangements with Senior Field Administrators
o Log Community Reporter shift start and end times
o Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and accounted for
o Assist with packing rooms for employees leaving the property to ensure quick return of personal belongings
• Onboarding and Employee Support
o Assist with onboarding and orientation for new hires in the Community Reporter Program
o Track, compile, and summarize wildlife and field observation data to support internal and community reporting
o Support audits, inspections, and regulatory-related activities involving the Community Reporter Program
o Ensure accurate and timely completion of timecards
o Provide guidance to Community Reporters on navigating the office, project site, and Red Dog culture and etiquette
• Driving Support
o Drive Community Reporters to observation opportunities as needed
o Provide transportation support for other community relations personnel to various locations as required
o Ensure the safe and reliable operation of company vehicles and equipment
• Workplace Relations & Safety
o Build positive relationships with all personnel on site
o Attend daily safety meetings, safety inductions, and inspections
o Act as a courageous safety leader, adhering to safety and environmental procedures
• Community Relations
o Assist the Lead, Community Programs in responding to feedback, concerns, and recommendations from Kivalina and Noatak Leadership and residents
o Attend on-site meetings with the RDO MLE Access Road construction team and Red Dog Operations as needed
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED, with preference for post-secondary education
• Five (5) years of work experience related to administrative fields
• Work experience specifically with Indigenous communities and/or organizations or in a natural resources industry in Alaska is an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, power apps and extended Microsoft platforms
• Ability to arrange travel and, input time and order supplies in GenCID
• Valid driver’s license
• USA Citizen or ability to work in the USA required
