Role Overview

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Senior Production Coordinator, Mill.


Key outcomes the role is intended to support:


•    Strong execution compliance to the Daily and Weekly Plans plan through effective coordination
•    Decision making that considers the entire value chain and therefore is aimed at maximizing the key business outcomes for the site
•    Effective in-shift coordination and rapid response to deviations from plan
•    Improved quality of inputs into planning and tradeoff decisions


Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site


Reporting to the Lead, Integrated Production

Key Responsibilities

•    Develop and communicate the Daily Plan and shift lineouts for Operations & Maintenance Execution, incorporating operational, maintenance, and project priorities, and ensuring alignment with Weekly Plan objectives and key business outcomes (KBOs)
•    Responsible for in-shift coordination to support adherence to the Daily Plan, including managing bottlenecks, competing priorities, and in-shift trade-off decision
•    Provide coordination at the key interfaces with Execution, including Mine & Mill Operations and Maintenance to ensure plan priorities are being driven and variance responses are being communicated effectively across teams
•    Liaise between Operations and Maintenance to ensure timely execution of work, including prioritization of break-in maintenance and coordination of equipment readiness and return to service
•    Communicate key coordination elements such as resource allocation, operating strategy, and priorities, while maintaining field presence to verify progress and align with supervisors
•    Lead the in-shift Variance Response to Plan process by coordinating with Operations & Maintenance Execution teams, facilitating trade-off analysis using production levers, and driving aligned recovery actions
•    Clearly and effectively communicate variance response decisions, trade-offs, actions, impacts, stakeholder alignment, and escalation of material variances through the line of authority
•    Provide structured feedback to Integrated Planning on variances, trade-offs, and execution performance, ensuring issues are quantified and lessons learned are incorporated into future planning cycles and to drive continuous improvement in the mill
•    Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

•    Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, Chemical or related field) is required
•    A minimum of eight (8) years working in an industrial environment with strong knowledge of metallurgical / milling operations
•    Highly motivated team player with ability to develop strong relationships across multi operational disciplines
•    Strong communicator, able to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders
•    Ability to understand the primary business targets of production plans and to identify the primary inputs of the milling process to achieve those plans
•    Able to facilitate and develop strong relationships across site
•    Enthusiastic and driven by interacting with other teams
•    Able to review and work with data to drive decision making
•    Exhibit courageous leadership and bravery in providing strong guidance in a variety of situations
•    Efficiently work under high pressure situations and embed effective time management in execution of responsibilities
•    Advanced computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
