Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world’s largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Reliability Engineer, Mobile Maintenance.
Responsibilities:
• Improve and sustain the reliability of mobile equipment by investigating reliability problems, developing, and implementing maintenance strategies, and providing technical support.
• Also responsible for providing direction, guidance, and continuous improvement to our Reliability Centered Maintenance program including staying current with both industry and Teck reliability best practices.
• Lead by example in ensuring that safe and healthy working conditions are maintained, that machinery and equipment are in good working order, that workers follow safe work practices, and that workers receive adequate training in their specific work tasks to protect their health and safety.
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
• Identify equipment problems (“bad actors”) that are having a negative impact on costs or production based on direct referrals, incident reports, production incidents, or maintenance cost reviews.
• Initiate Reliability Incident Reports, Root Cause Analysis, or Bad Actor Situation Appraisals as required.
• Ownership of continuous improvement initiatives in relation to asset management and reliability improvements.
• Assist in developing action plans to address the impact of critical equipment or parts on the overall reliability of the plant.
• Develop implementation schedules and goals or milestones and follow up to ensure adherence to schedules.
• Use a combination of preventative maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) for the development of asset maintenance strategies.
• Create, revise, or improve the scope and content of maintenance strategy documentation and information.
• Manage backlog of PM update requests and delegate minor PM revisions.
• Provide verbal and written reports to keep management and work teams informed.
• Advise plant on the maintenance strategy and apply Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
Rotational work schedule: two (2) weeks on-site at Red Dog Mine in Northwest Alaska working 10 hours a day, 7 days a week, and two (2) weeks off. Transportation to the worksite from Anchorage Airport provided by the
employer.
