The Mine Engineer, within their area of professional competence, will carry out mine assignments and projects as assigned. 

 

Rotational schedule will be 2 weeks on site, with 2 weeks off site

 

Reporting to the Principal Mine Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned work in a professional manner including vital measurements, calculations, analysis, interpretation, reporting and recommendations
  • Provide technical support and coordination for short-term and long-term projects between departments, vendors, and contractors
  • Improve our processes and procedures by assessing new technology and suggesting implementation where efficient
  • Support both short- and long-term planning efforts as required
  • Liaise with other engineers and geologists to get assistance in the development of plans and designs
  • Prepare reports on productivity analysis, mine design, and mine planning
  • Prepare plans for both surface drilling and blasting
  • Communicate effectively with operating and technical groups to ensure optimum utilization of resources
  • Develop an understanding of the company’s organization and work flow to develop a strong network within
  • Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • One (1) to five (5) years mining industry experience
  • Project work exposure and mine planning experience in an open pit environment is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Windows environment with advanced abilities in MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of mine planning software (e.g. Minesight or similar) ideal
  • Strong interpersonal communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proficient in prioritizing and completing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working with all levels of the organization and in a team environment
