Role Overview
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mill Operations, and Maintenance Execution, the successful applicant must safely manage and support maintenance priorities and activities for the Mill Operation and Heavy Equipment Shop while meeting tight timelines.
The rotation schedule for this opportunity will be an even rotation, with the option for 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site, or 3 weeks on-site and 3 off-site
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Support the Teck Management Operating System (MOS) and Maintenance Work Control processes
- Help motivate and hold others accountable for their performance
- Plan and organize your work as well as the work of others
- Can gather and interpret information to make rational and realistic decisions
- Coordinate between maintenance execution and planning to assess break-in work and prioritize based on operational requirements
- Prioritize work and handle numerous tasks at once
- Good oral and written communication skills, promotes open communication, and demonstrates respect for others
- Represent the Operations and Maintenance Execution teams during daily prioritization meetings, as well as maintenance planning and scheduling meetings
- Review the status of work orders to prioritize emergent break-in work and the coordination of parts ordering and delivery
- Support and coordinate with the maintenance supervisors to help ensure all parts are available before emergent work commences
- Support the development of variance plans to mitigate daily operational and maintenance risks or exposures to work execution
- Contribute to work plan development and supports in the execution of major work projects, low and zero tonnage shutdown events
- Contribute to the development of long-range maintenance strategies across all disciplines (operational, heavy equipment, electrical and mechanical maintenance teams)
- Ensure that resource requirements are identified and ready for execution before the required completion date. Examples of readiness include but are not limited to spare or replacement parts staging, proper and complete LOTOTO of equipment to be serviced, safe access to the work area, i.e., housekeeping, equipment guarding, fall prevention, illumination, etc.
- Provide feedback to the maintenance planning and scheduling department to help continuously improve work execution
- Support and develops the reporting of KPI’s as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Five (5) years of experience in supervision and/or maintenance planning with a strong knowledge of metallurgical / milling and mining operations
- Five (5) years of experience in Operation and Maintenance work control
- Experience utilizing scheduling packages such as Microsoft Project, P6, or another scheduling program
- Able to schedule, troubleshoot, prioritize, and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Monitor complex maintenance processes and coordinate critical activities between multiple stakeholders
- Facilitate and develop strong relationships across multiple disciplines and teams
- Generate, compile, review, and work with data to drive decision-making
- Highly motivated team player, enthusiastic and driven by interacting with other teams
- Strong communicator, able to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders
- Exhibit courageous leadership and bravery in providing strong guidance in a variety of situations
- Efficiently work under high-pressure situations and embed effective time management in the execution of responsibilities
- Advanced computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
