Maintenance Coordination Planner

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Maintenance Coordination Planner. Due to anticipated needs, we are currently recruiting for a career oriented individual to fill this role.
Rotation will be an even rotation, 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site
Reporting to the Team Leader, Maintenance Improvement and Shutdown Management
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Must be a champion of the disciplined usage of the Teck Work Control Processes
- Comply and reviews execution plans and schedules, develops mitigation and or contingency plans for risks and or exposures to effective work execution
- Contribute to work plan development and participate in the execution of major work projects, low and zero tonnage shutdown events
- Contribute to the development of long-range maintenance strategies
- Coordinate efforts across disciplines (operational, electrical and mechanical maintenance teams) to develop and coordinate worklists
- Review the status of work orders to prioritize planning activities for approved work orders within area of responsibility daily
- Ensure the identification of resource requirements and readiness for execution prior to the date required for the work to be completed. Examples of readiness include but are not limited to; spare or replacement parts staging, proper and complete LOTOTO of equipment to be serviced, safe access to the work area, i.e. housekeeping, equipment guarding, fall prevention, illumination etc.
- Encourage contribution of planning details from those expected to complete work. Incorporate crew input into planning packages for work execution
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders to meet completion deadlines
- Improve the efficiency of the planning process by developing and using standard jobs as templates
- Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve capital, operating, and maintenance projects
- Ensure that all work packages comply with applicable legislation, standards, policies, and procedures
- Provide feedback to on functional capability gaps identified through coaching
- Collaborate with other specialists to promote functional and cross functional integration
- Review process and data related gaps and recommend improvements to line leaders
- Support the implementation of improvement initiatives
- Provides functional specialist knowledge, data validation and cleansing, stakeholder engagement and communication for process changes
- Support local testing and deployment for Work Management activities in CMMS Change Cycles
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree (Metallurgical, Mineral Processing, Chemical or related field) or equivalent combination of higher education qualifications and experience
- A minimum five (5) years working in production supervision or production planning with strong knowledge of metallurgical/milling operations
- Experience in Work Management in a Maintenance/Production environment
- Ability to schedule, prioritize and manage tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to monitor complex processes and coordinate critical activities
- Ability to facilitate and develop strong relationships across site
- Ability to generate, compile, review and work with data to drive decision making
- Highly motivated team player, enthusiastic and driven by interacting with other teams
- Strong communicator, able to communicate clearly and concisely with key stakeholders
- Exhibit courageous leadership and bravery in providing strong guidance in a variety of situations
- Efficiently work under high pressure situations and embed effective time management in execution of responsibilities
- Advanced computer skills, particularly spreadsheet, word processing and presentation applications
