Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent will be tasked duties for maintenance activities associated to: accommodation buildings, service complex and other areas as required.
Responsibilities:
- Primary role will be the Electrical repairs, troubleshooting, servicing, and installation of the HVAC Systems, Air Handling Units, Refrigeration Systems, Boilers, Furnaces, Commercial Kitchen Appliances, Lighting Circuits, Receptacles, Heat Trace
- Provide maintenance services to all accommodation buildings, Office areas and Mill Concentrator areas. Where required, assist in the coordination of projects from conception thru to completion
- Perform general maintenance work including primary trades such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, dry walling, carpet and flooring, painting, renovations and remodeling, snow removal, laundry equipment & systems, lock and key replacements, and associated building control systems
- Respond to emergency calls, leaks, spills and other urgent needs. Take immediate corrective action
- Basic repair of Satellite dish, Cable TV and sound systems
- Keep accurate records of Maintenance activities including work orders, repairs made and parts used or required
- Communicate effectively with other coworkers and departments about assigned tasks and ensure carryover and updates of completed tasks throughout the shift
- Maintain a strong focus on safety with proven knowledge and understanding of environmental risks and hazards as well as follows safety policies and procedures (MSHA and Red Dog EMS training) and ensures daily workplace inspections are done in order to accurately identify and correct workplace hazards including advising coworkers as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- 7 years combined experience in one or more of the building trades
- Hold a Certified License in at least 1 discipline i.e., HVAC, Boiler Operator, Refrigeration etc.
- Ability to take a project from start to completion with very minimal direction
- Able to work day, afternoon, or night shifts as required, as well as on call if requested
- Highly self-motivated and able to perform tasks with limited direction and assistance
- Perform labor intensive work when required
- The ability to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions
