Role Overview
Trail Operations is currently seeking an individual in the role of Project Engineer or Specialist. This challenging role will see you drawing upon your strong interpersonal and communication skills and your technical background. This position reports to a Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
- Act as the project lead and/or project engineer in the evaluation, selection, and design of multi-disciplinary capital projects.
- Oversee and/or support project execution to achieve safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives, applying full lifecycle project management practices. This includes commissioning and operational readiness.
- Maintain a strong field presence during project construction working closely with consultants and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines or candidates with industrial project management experience will be considered
- Applicants need to be eligible for registration or registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (“EGBC”) as this will be a condition of employment. Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, technical development, or strategic planning in an industrial or operational setting
- Experience with capital project development, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, and risk management would be considered an asset.
Pay Range: CAD $105,000 - $145,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
