Role Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor, Travel & Office Services, the Office Services Clerk ensures daily upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of each office kitchen and breakroom. This role ensures kitchen areas remain welcoming, sanitary, well‑stocked, and aligned with workplace health and safety standards. The ideal candidate is diligent, proactive, and committed to crafting a positive employee experience through outstanding facility support.
This is a 100% on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Perform daily cleaning of all office kitchens, including counters, sinks, appliances, cupboards, and communal surfaces.
- Load, run, unload, and maintain dishwashers throughout the day.
- Ensure fridges, freezers, and microwaves are cleaned regularly (e.g., weekly wipe-downs, monthly deep cleaning).
- Manage waste and recycling in kitchen areas, including replacing liners and ensuring accurate sorting.
- Address spills, messes, and unclean areas promptly.
- Supervise inventory of kitchen supplies such as coffee, tea, milk, snacks, utensils, cups, plates, and cleaning products.
- Restock supplies daily and reorder items as needed to prevent shortages.
- Coordinate with vendors for beverage services, snack deliveries, filtered water systems, and supplies.
- Track consumption trends to recommend adjustments to ordering levels.
- Maintain and clean appliances, including coffee machines, kettles, dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, toasters, and water dispensers.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting or coordinate service calls when equipment requires repair.
- Ensure all appliances meet safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain kitchen areas in accordance with workplace hygiene and safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate food safety practices for shared items and communal spaces.
- Conducts bi-weekly preventative maintenance inspections across office floors
- Addresses unresolved Clikfix requests and maintenance-related inquiries
- Sits on the Health & Safety Committee
- Act as the primary point of contact for kitchen-related questions, requests, or concerns.
- Encourage a shared-responsibility culture by posting reminders, presenting expectations, and guiding employees on accurate kitchen use.
- Support company events involving food and beverages (e.g., catering setup/cleanup).
- Provides coverage for reception and mailroom when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities services, hospitality, office administration, or related fields is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard for cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable with physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, standing, and moving supplies.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of hygiene and sanitation guidelines.
Pay Range: CAD $49,000 - $60,000 per year
The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
