Reporting to the Operations Center Lead, the Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for coordinating mining operations activities to ensure the efficient dispatch of equipment and personnel. This role involves managing material flows, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring safety, productivity, and operational goals are achieved. The Dispatch Supervisor will monitor real-time operations, facilitate coordination between teams, address issues promptly, and ensure seamless communication across shifts.
 
 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  •  Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure the efficient execution of daily and monthly plans, maintaining high levels of compliance.
  • Monitor equipment downtime and delays, working closely with Field Execution and Maintenance Supervisors to resolve issues quickly.
  • Support supervisors and operators in maximizing equipment utilization and productivity to achieve mine plans. 
  • Leverage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify and communicate gaps in mining operations and collaborating with field execution and maintenance teams to address performance variances and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan and manage equipment downtime and delays to minimize disruptions to the production process.
  • Supervise operator breaks, ensuring timely refueling and maintenance scheduling.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the central communication point for safety and mine production, including during emergency situations.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in dispatching or coordination within the mining industry.
  • Proficiency with Mining Fleet Management Systems – Familiarity with systems such as MineStar, Fleet, Wenco, or similar.
  • Understanding of mining processes and procedures – Knowledge of mining operations, workflows, and procedures essential for effective dispatch coordination.
  • Strong Communication Skills – Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with operators, supervisors, and various teams.
  • Grade 12 or Equivalent 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) would be considered an asset. 
  • Valid Driver’s License

Salary Range:  $105,000 - $129,000

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
