Reporting to the Lead Technical Specialist, the Senior Geologist, Core Logging will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the HVC Core Facility. In this role, the incumbent will ensure that all geological data is accurately validated and that the geochemical QAQC program is fully executed on all geochemical datasets.
This position requires a deep understanding of the Highland Valley Copper (HVC) mineral systems. The Senior Geologist will apply advanced techniques in spectral geology and geochemistry to support and validate the geological observations and interpretations made by the core logging team.
The shift will be Monday–Thursday, consisting of four 10-hour shifts (4 days on, 3 days off).

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Manage the safe and effective flow of core through the core facility.
- Promote a work culture where psychologically safety and team inclusiveness are at the forefront.
- Supervise the core shack, ensuring geological and spatial data accuracy
- Maintain rigorous quality control over geological data, from collection through to assay tracking and database management.
- Validation of geological data utilizing advanced geochemical and hyperspectral data.
- Plan and execute geological programs across site
- Generate conceptual, and spatial models that feed into Geological and Resource models.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant geoscience experience, with demonstrated success on large core logging programs.
- Professional designation (P.Geo.) or eligibility, in good standing.
- University degree in geoscience or a related field (MSc or PhD considered an asset).
- Strong expertise in geological interpretation, exploration methods, and mineral systems, particularly Calc-Alkaline porphyry systems.
- Experience in core logging, geochemical and geophysical applications, and guiding exploration activities across scales.
- Proficiency in relevant geological software and strong computer skills.
- Results-oriented, organized, and skilled in planning, decision-making, and leading complex projects.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
- Valid class 5 drivers license

Salary Range: $119,000 - $147,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
